The scripting language known as PHP started development in 1995. It was developed by Rasmus Lerdorf and was originally called PHP/FI, which stood for "Personal Home Page / Forms Interpreter".
The modern day spreadsheet (eg. Excel) was first developed by a uni student, Dan Bricklin, in 1978 and sold 1 million copies in the next few years.
